I would refer to the two projects at Glynde and Dormansland that were undertaken by Harbour Building Services Ltd. Both of these were completed to a very high standard, to budget and in advance of the contract completion dates. Both projects were accomplished in a very professional manner and the Clients, in both instances, have been extremely pleased with the end results.

Harbour Building Services Ltd carried out extensive refurbishment and extension works to HoChee Cottages in Dormansland. These are early Victorian almshouses managed by Lingfield United Trust and the work required liaison with the Trustees of the Charity, the residents who were temporarily re-housed for the duration of the works and strict adherence to the budget. Harbour Building Services Ltd worked efficiently and considerately with the parties involved and the standard of workmanship was superb. The programme was adhered to and finished slightly ahead of schedule. Everyone involved, including the Almhouse Association, were very impressed and it was gratifying to be able to acknowledge the high standard of workmanship at the official opening ceremony in September 2013.

We inherited a building and from the start I wanted to turn the 2^nd floor in to flats, having no experience of building or what it entailed I got the advice from a friend who recommended an architect who in turn recommended Harbour Builders our architect managed to get them to agree take the job on.

As with anything new, both my husband and I were slightly hesitant about taking on such a big project being totally green in such things, but from the first site meeting Graham and Chris put us at ease and they brought along Michael who just sorted everything out.

We had problems along the way, like asbestos, but it was all dealt with, with  the calm and efficiency of a team who had everything under control, even when I was on holiday, I had a phone call about a sewage pipe on the floor below, I phoned up Michael who with Harbour Builders resolved the problem.

It was near the end of the project and there was an issue in the bathroom with the unlipped wall panel and Graham was asking and showing  how I might like the extra laid, after a moment he said,  do you trust me Cathy, to do it right?  Well what could I say to that, except ‘Yes’? Not long after that I was showing friends round and one being a builder who said that they had done a good job, that the work was very proficient, professional and couldn’t fault any of it.

Would I use Harbour Builders again?  Of course I would.

Harbour Building Services Ltd were contracted to undertake a comprehensive renovation of a grade II listed detached dwelling house in the Conservation Area village of Glynde in 2012. The scheme included a number of challenging consented alterations to layout and addition of a new rear porch to what is a old character half timbered property.

Graham Grooms, Chris Smart and their associated team of staff and sub-contractors were a delight to work with. Communication throughout the project was good and it was refreshing to work with a company who were obviously focused on delivering a quality end product..
